Maybe we were watching different games then because I seem to remember the guy giving us all sorts of hassle in the CL return leg at Anfield this season. Plus, he's got a decent set-piece on him (ask Utd fans
) so shouldn't be discounted.
That said I would prefer a more natural winger with genuine pace and flair to give the side better balance. Step forward Alves or Joaquin.
