Star return boosts Magpies
Newcastle have been boosted by the news Scott Parker is back in training and is looking fit ahead of the new season.
The midfielder was forced to sit out the end of last season with glandular fever but the former Chelsea man is now back to full fitness and boss Glenn Roeder cannot wait to have him back in the first team.
When fit Parker will be a hugely influential player in the Magpies midfield and Roeder says it was good to see him back on the training ground when the players returned for pre-season yesterday.
"It was particularly nice to see Scotty Parker back and he's already got through quite a lot of running," Roeder revealed. "He looks full of energy and it's great to see him back after glandular fever.
"He had a hugely successful and consistent first season and we're looking forward to what his second season at Newcastle will bring."
