SPRING SEASON
IU University -2- U17 Mexico -0
4. IU draws 5,739 for Mexico U-17 game
Indiana drew a crowd of 5,739 -- the second-largest crowd for an IU men's game -- at Bill Armstrong Stadium to watch the young Hoosiers beat Mexico’s U-17 national team, 2-0. Redshirt John Mellencamp and junior Kevin Robson scored for IU.
"We possessed the ball well,” said Indiana coach Mike Freitag, “and really showed a spark on the offensive end. We aren't really concerned with who scores, we just want to put goals on the board. It was an unbelievable environment with nearly 6,000 fans. I am glad we put on a good show against a great team like Mexico."
