Glenn Roeder has vowed not to rush Kieron Dyer back to action following the midfielder's return to fitness.
The 27-year-old England international has missed Newcastle's last three games courtesy of familiar hamstring troubles, having only just returned to action after five months left kicking his heels on the sidelines.
However, while Dyer is back in training, Roeder is reticent to push the player before he is ready and with this in mind Dyer is highly unlikely to play any part at the weekend against Manchester United.
"Kieron came out and did some ball work with us on Monday and it was great to see him back on the training ground,'' Roeder told the Newcastle Evening Chronicle.
"But it is still early days for him yet and the only thing we can say is that there is no way we are going to rush him back.
''Old Trafford is not in our thinking for him or Titus Bramble.
"Titus is back running again and he is happy at the stage his recovery is at following his hamstring injury."
