Parma are lining up a bid for Getafe striker Ivan Sanchez Rico Soto, otherwise known as Riki, according to reports in Italy.

Riki is liked by prospective Parma President Lorenzo Sanz, who has been an admirer of the centre-forward ever since he first made his mark in the Real Madrid B team during the 2003-04 season with 20 goals.

Former Real chief Sanz has made the 25-year-old his top priority as soon as he has completed his long-awaited purchase of the Emilian club.

Riki, who has been at Getafe for the past two seasons and has a £4m release clause in his contract, is said to have already informed the Spanish club of his intention to move to Italy.

Sanz was expected to wrap up his swoop for the struggling Tardini outfit last week, but the take-over has again been delayed.

He had paid a £5.8m deposit last year, but has failed to settle the remaining £13m before the agreed deadline.
