BIRMINGHAM, England (AP) -- Birmingham City is trying to identify and ban a spectator who threw a coin at Blackburn goalkeeper Brad Friedel on Saturday.
There's no suggestion Friedel, the star of the U.S. World Cup team last year, was hit. The goalie handed the coin to match referee Graham Barber; it was thrown moments after the Rovers scored a second goal in a 4-0 victory.
The Blues could be in trouble with the Football Association because they were fined $43,000 and warned about future conduct after fan trouble last season disrupted matches against Aston Villa.
Birmingham City issued a statement saying it would ban the spectator if it identifies him.
