"SPARKY'S NELSEN TO LORD IT
By Alan Nixon
BLACKBURN ROVERS boss Mark Hughes is signing two bargain international skippers in a bid to beat the drop on the cheap.
Hughes is taking on New Zealand captain Ryan Nelsen and South Africa's Aaron Mokoena after successful trials.
Centre-half Nelsen is finalising terms on a move from MLS champions Washington DC United and will have to apply for a work permit.
Hughes plans to have free agent Nelsen available from the start of next month onwards and is ready to put him into his struggling side.
The 26-year-old has been an international regular for years and was twice voted in the All-Star side during his stay in the United States.
Nelsen will be followed to Blackburn by Mokoena, with Rovers close to agreeing a £600,000 fee for the midfielder with Belgian side Racing Genk.
Mokoena was with Ajax for four years before being sold to Genk."

Looks like he'll be giving Friedal some defensive help.
