Matteo Ferrari is finally a Roma player after he completed his move from Serie A rivals Parma.

The defender has been in training with the Giallorossi for the last week but he only completed his switch today.

Ferrari has signed a four-year contract in the Italian capital worth a reported £1.1m a season.

The Italian international was keen to seal a move to Roma after boss Cesare Prandelli also joined them from Parma this summer.

No details of the transfer fee have been released yet but it is thought that Parma have netted around £3.5m.

Whispers in the peninsula claim that Chievo midfielder Simone Perrotta will be the club’s next signing.

He’s needed at the Stadio Olimpico after the departure of Emerson to Juventus and the serious injury to Damiano Tommasi.
