Agent spoils Wright deal
Wigan have called off a deal with Crewe defender David Wright to take him to the JJB Stadium because of his agent's demands.
Alex accepted an undisclosed bid last Thursday for the unsettled 24-year-old, who was due to discuss personal terms with the club.
Crewe boss Dario Gradi is now urging Wright to discuss the matter with Paul Jewell in the hope of still salvaging an agreement.
"As it stands Wigan have called off the deal because of the fee the agent was asking for himself and David. Wigan wouldn't pay what his agent was asking for and neither would we. That's up to David to sort out.
"David thought the talks were progressing, but I told them they were not because of the agent's demands. I've told David to talk to Paul Jewell directly to try and resume talks.
"We have agreed a deal with them and David is prepared to go and the offer from Wigan is the only concrete offer we have had for him. The ball is now firmly in his court and it's really up to him to do the work and try and sort the situation out. That is how we have left it with them and we'll have to see what materialises in the next few days."
the fact that we all take from this AGENTS ARE DICKHEADS
